First: You are beautiful.

As your photographer, my goal is to highlight your natural, God-given beauty.

I'm always keeping this in mind when I shoot and when I edit. As my client, you need to know that I aim for natural over fake/highly retouched.

When I edit, I try to gauge what you look like naturally so that my edits highlight that, and not add overt touches that make you look fake. For example, let's say you get a blemish the day of the shoot (it happens!)- I will retouch most if not all of the blemishes I see.

But I will leave what I think are beauty marks, moles, and things that make you - you. Unless otherwise specified.

I do not alter your skin color (this is a promise) - I only make sure the exposure and white balance are correct.

Will I whiten the teeth a bit, remove stray hairs, take away a few wrinkles, even out the skin - and just give you a "I got great some great sleep this week!" look: FOR SURE.

But not much other than that.

A note about clothing:

I want to show you in the best light.

If you have the choice to show more or less skin in clothing: show less.

In the end, you will be more comfortable, (and feel less awkward when posing), and I will be able to give you so much MORE in the way of beautiful imagery. You can do so much more with showing less letting your personality and style come through.

Once you receive your photos:

Tagging me @gnicholsphoto is always appreciated. Us photographers live for that! It helps our business so much.

However, if you re-edit my edits, then please do not tag me as it technically is no longer my work.

My editing software and even my huge monitor are all calibrated to give the correct colors. I take this very, very seriously.

Re-editing diminishes the resolution as well leading to poor prints and poor representation of my work. So when you post your own edits, it is no longer representative of my brand or the work I do.

Hours of editing are done to give you the best images. I hope you do not feel the need to edit, but if you do- would you please reach out to me first and maybe it is something simple that I can adjust on my end.

Editing is part of the service I provide and I consider it just as much of an honor as photographing you!

Lastly, thank you- you have a lot of photographers to choose from. What a gift to be chosen to capture your memories. - Gillian
